Black Mountain is a 1,503-foot summit in western Madison County, Missouri, overlooking the St. Francis River along its east side, where the river runs at about 560 feet. Missouri Route E skirts the mountain to the east and south, and the community of French Mills lies just south along the river. Named for the local Black family, the mountain is a prominent feature of the St. Francis valley landscape in this part of southeastern Missouri.
