Surry County honored the sacrifice and valor of its men who served in defense of their country during the World War from 1917-1918, naming those killed in action, those who died of wounds, those who died of disease, those wounded in action, and the many men who served, including members of the Army Nurse Corps, Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, and Colored Army.
