Bond School House
Military
Built about 1835, 150 yards south, this school house was named for John Bond, a recorded minister at Deep Creek Friends Meeting. On February 12, 1863, the Yadkin County Militia tried to arrest about 16 men who resisted conscription into the Confederate Army. Gunfire followed, and Soloman Hinshaw, James West, Eck Allgood, and John Williams were killed.
