The Andrew B. Cooke House in Virginia Beach, Virginia, was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Andrew B. and Maude Cooke, created in 1953 and completed in 1959. One of only three Wright designs in Virginia, it is a variation on his solar hemicycle concept, shaped around light, space, and the sun’s path. Its yellow-gold brick walls and dramatic cantilevered copper roof make it a distinctive mid-century residence. The Cookes owned the house until 1983, when they sold it to Daniel and Jane Duhl, who later sold it in 2016. The house remains a rare Virginia example of Wright’s residential architecture and a notable late work.
