In Section 14 in the Town of Rietbrock, Marathon County, the exact center of the northern half of the Western Hemisphere lies where the 90th meridian of longitude bisects the 45th parallel of latitude, placing it exactly halfway between the North Pole and the Equator and a quarter of the way around the earth from Greenwich, England. The true location of that intersection is north 75°06'38" east, 1,066.18 feet from the center of the monument, which is only a representation of the intersection of the 90th Meridian and the 45th Parallel.
