Matt Zircher was a 1989 Russia High School alumnus and lifelong statistician who kept sports statistics at RHS for basketball, baseball, and other sports. His love of sports took him to the University of Dayton, where he earned a degree in Sports Information Management, and then into sports information careers at Wright State University and UNOH. He also served as an official scorer for the Dayton Dragons baseball team and as a sportswriter for the Sidney Daily News. Throughout his adult life, he devoted himself to covering sports for local schools, colleges, and their athletes, and spent many hours in the park's original press box as the official announcer and scorekeeper of the annual Russia Alumni Softball Tournament.
