A double-pen split log cabin built in the 1840s by early settlers who fled disease-carrying mosquitoes along Claybank Creek became the first permanent location in this area and served as a gathering place for many families. The house witnessed both happy occasions and sad events as the people who lived here weathered the storms of their lives. Though those settlers have gone on to eternity, the structure still stands as a legacy to remind future generations of a time gone by. The property belonged to the Mark Donnell family for several generations, and Golgotha "Cat" Faulk and Minnie Faulk were the last occupants of the house from 1944 until their deaths. The cabin was restored in 2005-2006.
