First Baptist Church of Rivera was founded on May 27, 1888. It is recognized as a point of historical interest, and a plaque was placed there on March 17, 1970 by Poppy Trail Parlor No. 266 and Whittier Parlor No. 298, Native Daughters of the Golden West.
