Bailey Covered Bridge in Amity, Pennsylvania, spans Ten Mile Creek and is the last burr arch covered bridge in Washington County. About 15 feet wide and 66 feet long, it was originally built in 1899 on land owned by the Bailey brothers. That first bridge was destroyed by fire in 1994, and the present bridge replaced the earlier crossing. Its importance rests on both its design and its rarity, as a surviving example of the county’s burr arch covered bridges and a recognized part of the area’s historic landscape.
