At Old Fort Wilkinson, the treaty of limits between the United States and the Creek Nation of Indians took place on June 16, 1802, and was ratified on Jan. 11, 1803. The treaty was signed by James Wilkinson, Benjamin Hawkins, and Andrew Pickens, commissioners on the part of the United States, and by forty chiefs and warriors.
