Among the family members buried there are John A. Brackenridge (1800-62), a Warrick County, Indiana, neighbor from whom young Abraham Lincoln borrowed law books and the 1855 founder of Texana Presbyterian Church; his son George W. Brackenridge (1832-1902), an emissary to Benito Juarez in Mexico from President Lincoln in the 1860s, founder of San Antonio National Bank in 1866, donor of San Antonio's Brackenridge Park, a member of the first board of regents of the University of Texas who served 30 years, and a philanthropist; and his daughter Mary Eleanor Brackenridge (1837-1924), who served on the first board of regents of CIA, now Texas Woman's University.
