Lucky Peak State Park is a 240-acre public recreation area on and near Lucky Peak Lake about 8 miles southeast of Boise, Idaho, established in 1956 after Lucky Peak Dam was completed through an agreement with the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Organized as three separate units rather than one continuous tract, it serves different parts of the Boise River and reservoir setting. Discovery Park offers picnicking and fishing along the river, Sandy Point provides a sandy beach and calm water for wading and swimming, and Spring Shores at the lake’s northern end is the main boating access with ramps and a marina. The park also includes a notable zeolite occurrence.
