Three exceptional men from Dayton, Ohio, Wilbur Wright, Orville Wright, and Paul Laurence Dunbar, found their creative outlet here through accomplishments and failures, and finally success. They offered the world something far greater: hope and the ability to take a dream and make it a reality. The area lies in a humid continental zone with a generally temperate climate, with mildly cold winters averaging around 39 degrees Fahrenheit, hot and humid summers averaging around 74 degrees Fahrenheit, average annual rainfall just above 41 inches, and generally light winter snowfall averaging about 25 inches.
