On August 12, 1797, in Greene County, Tennessee, land for a house of worship was deeded to trustees Seth Babb, John Carter, John Weems, Claudius Bailey, Thomas Babb, William Crumley, Stephen Babb, Thomas Bailey, and Thomas Doan of the Wesley's Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church on the waters of Lick Creek. The Old Brick Church stood on this site until it was destroyed by fire around 1880.
