Zions Kirche was organized in 1871 with 52 German members by the Rev. William Felsing, an itinerant minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Its building was erected in 1872 of native limestone, enlarged in 1893, and had a brick facade and bell tower added in 1913. Heirs of the founders of this church still remain in the congregation.
