North–South Ski Bowl was a small northern Idaho ski area in the Hoodoo Mountains, notable for its unusual “upside-down” layout with the lodge and parking at the top and the runs descending below. Built from a late 1930s day lodge developed by the U.S. Forest Service and first operated by Washington State College, it later served as the main training ground for Washington State University and University of Idaho ski teams. Renamed over time and improved with new lifts, parking, and night skiing, it closed for alpine skiing in the 1990s because of aging equipment and unreliable snow. Its site now supports cross-country skiing and a private lodge.
