The 44th Air Refueling Squadron was activated at Lake Charles AFB, Louisiana, in 1953 and deactivated at Selfridge AFB, Michigan, in 1964. Its crew positions were aircraft commander, pilot, navigator, flight engineer, boom operator, radio operator, and crew chief.
