A.H. Krouskop dedicated this park to the public for pleasure and recreation on October 8, 1925. Born at Bellefontaine, Ohio, on July 13, 1840, he moved to Richland County in 1851 and lived there until his death on April 2, 1930. A manufacturer and merchant with a special genius for business, he aided materially in the growth and development of the community. His gift was presented as an expression of a life rooted in the rock-ribbed hills and warm wide valley that were the home of his heart.
