Conner Prairie in Fishers, Indiana, is a living history museum built around the preserved William Conner House, a brick home from 1823 that ranks among central Indiana’s earliest brick buildings and once served local public functions. Developed from Conner’s former farm, the property was restored in the 1930s by Eli Lilly Jr. and later expanded into a broad museum campus. In the 1960s, Earlham College oversaw its growth, including the recreated 1836 community of Prairietown, before the museum became independent in 2003. Today it combines immersive historical interpretation with science, innovation, agriculture, and seasonal programs, making it one of Indiana’s leading cultural attractions.
