In 1981, Milford Parks and Recreation Director Gary L. Emory sat on the bank of Goat Island in the Mispillion River with the newly constructed Milford Police Department in the background. Goat Island was the first parcel of land acquired by the City of Milford for Mispillion Greenway development in 1976, but the last phase to be completed in 2014.
