Enoch M. Detty served as a private in Company G, 73rd Ohio Infantry during the Civil War. He was wounded at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and died of dysentery at Camp Letterman Hospital on October 22, 1863. He was the first known soldier to be buried in Gettysburg Cemetery, Pennsylvania, in Section A - Ohio. His hometown was Vigo, Ohio.
