Buckner Mountain is a summit in Madison County, Missouri, rising 935 feet, or 285 meters, in the Ozark landscape of southeastern Missouri. As a named local high point, it reflects the region’s geography while also preserving a fragment of early settlement history. The mountain was named for Aylette Buckner, an early settler in the area, linking the landform to one of the people associated with the community’s beginnings.
