Crupperneck Bend overlooks the Gauley River, which rises in Pocahontas County at an elevation of 4100 feet and flows southwesterly to join the New River, forming the Great Kanawha. Its tributaries are the Cranberry, Cherry, Meadow, and Williams rivers.
