The Baptist Church of Christ at the Valley was organized in 1890 during the pastorate of W.P. Hutchinson, was renamed Glenfield Baptist Church in 1908, and moved to this site under Dr. Percy Ray in 1941. Its sanctuary was built in 1964, was partially destroyed by a tornado, and was rebuilt in 1984. It was one of the founding churches of the Union County Baptist Association.
