The first Spring Valley Lutheran Church was built on this site in 1892. A storm destroyed the church building in June 1902. A new church was dedicated on June 19, 1904, and services were held at this site for 73 years. After that, a new church was built east of the cemetery and dedicated on May 23, 1965. A fire destroyed that church building on March 26, 2010, and a new church was built on the same site and dedicated on May 1, 2011.
