Burkhardt Hill was the birthplace of the All-American Soapbox Derby, a youth racing program founded in Dayton and run nationally since 1934. It was dedicated on July 4, 1990, in Dayton, Ohio, and presented that day by the Wrightview Neighborhood Association.
