Built in 1867, the spring house is the oldest remaining structure on the grounds. The water from Big Eddy Springs in Chippewa Falls has served water-bottling companies and the Leinenkugel brewery for over 150 years, and it is still used today in Leinenkugel's brewing process in Chippewa Falls. Because beer is comprised of over 90% water, an ample supply of clean, fresh water with low mineral content is necessary when producing top-quality beer.
