At the burning of York's Opera House in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on Sunday, September 8, 1896, Edward H. Gange, Silas F. Watson, Frank M. Seaver, Arthur C. Hill, and Robert L. Rofe heroically gave up their lives in the performance of duty.
