Peak Eight is a mountain summit in Del Norte County in far northern California, significant above all as a place held sacred by the Yurok, Karok, and Tolowa tribes. More than a geographic high point, it belongs to the traditional landscape of Native communities whose histories in this region long predate modern mapping and county boundaries.
