Goliad State Park and Historic Site is a Texas state park on the San Antonio River at the edge of Goliad that brings together natural habitat, visitor facilities, and major historic landmarks. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, it preserves riverine plant and animal life while also holding sites central to South Texas history, including Mission Espíritu Santo, the ruins of Mission Rosario, the reconstructed birthplace of Ignacio Zaragoza, and the Fannin Memorial Monument near Presidio La Bahía. Its importance rests in linking Spanish colonial history and Texas independence memory, especially the burial site associated with James Fannin and victims of the Goliad Massacre.
