Born in 1810 in Pennsylvania, Daniel Lamb was a lawyer and banker in Wheeling. He served at the 1861 Wheeling conventions that led to West Virginia statehood and at the first constitutional convention. Elected five times to the House of Delegates, he supported leniency for ex-Confederates and opposed test oaths. Lamb also compiled a large portion of the state's first law code. He died in April 1894.
