Pratt's Falls Park in Pompey, New York, centers on Pratt's Falls, a 137-foot waterfall in a wooded gorge, and preserves a site tied to Onondaga County's early settlement. In 1796, Manoah Pratt Sr. and Abraham Smith established one of the county's first mills here, a sawmill later converted to a flour mill in 1798. Merritt Alonzo Hall sold the falls and surrounding land to Onondaga County in 1913, and the park opened to the public on July 3, 1934. Today it combines scenic trails, picnic and group facilities, archery ranges, and year-round recreation, uniting natural beauty with local historical importance.
