Millard Quentin Plumblee, born December 26, 1906, in Greenville County, South Carolina, graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1931 and became principal of Anderson School, located 2 miles south of here, serving from 1931 to 1962. In 1962 he became principal of Bartlett Yancey High School until his retirement. He helped organize the Southern Caswell Ruritan Club, was a charter member, and served as its president in 1975. His tireless efforts, dedication to making the Southern Caswell community and Caswell County a better place to live, congenial attitude, and concern for his fellow man earned him the name “Mr. Plumblee.”
