Apache Lake is the deepest in the chain of reservoir lakes on the Salt River. It was created by the construction of Horse Mesa Dam in 1927. Horse Mesa Dam was completed in 1927 and is 300 feet high and 660 feet long. Apache Lake is 17 miles long, 266 feet deep, has 41.5 miles of shoreline, and covers 2,600 acres.
