Lake Patricia National Wildlife Refuge is an 800-acre protected area in North Dakota composed entirely of privately owned land under easement. Its significance lies in a cooperative arrangement in which landowners and the U.S. government work together to conserve the area's natural resources. Although the land is not federally owned, it is managed as part of the national wildlife refuge system through oversight by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service from offices at Audubon National Wildlife Refuge.
