St. Michael's Parish Cemetery is a place where generations of parish believers rest, preserving the spiritual heritage, stories, hopes, dreams, and faithful service of parish ancestors who raised families, worked, worshipped, and served their generation. Among those buried there are seven men accidentally killed while building a train tunnel near Mt. Airy, cadavers honored by students and alumni of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery for donating their bodies to dental medical science, Michael Kilgran of Rusky County, Roscommon, Ireland, born September 27, 1819, and died September 27, 1887, and Lilbourn P. Kuhn, whose 1879 meeting with a mysterious priest began the parish and through whose zeal and generosity St. Michael's Church was built; he was born October 31, 1817, died December 21, 1896, and many members of his family are also buried there. Only a few trees remain from the dense oak and chestnut forest that once lay to the north and west of the church, and John J. Doherty, born in 1883 and died in 1965, was honorary chairman of the parish's 75th anniversary observance on September 23, 1956, remembered by a fellow parishioner as a fiery St. Michael whose loyalty and devotion knew no limits.
