Nature
Mount Tobin is the highest peak in Nevada’s Tobin Range and stands in Pershing County as one of the state’s more prominent summits. It ranks second in topographic prominence within the county and twelfth in Nevada, underscoring its significance among the state’s mountains. The summit lies on public land managed by the Bureau of Land Management and has no access restrictions. Even so, the route most often used to reach it passes near private property, an important factor in how the mountain is approached today.
