The air field east of Mill Bluff is part of the Volk Field Air National Guard Training Site next to the Village of Camp Douglas. Its runway is oriented due east to west, measures 9000 feet long and 150 feet wide, and has a 1000 feet overrun on each end. It is capable of receiving any sized aircraft presently made. The farm field in the foreground has been partially drained and is used as pasture land, and most of the land in the immediate area is either very dry or wet and has marginal use for agriculture.
