On this prairie knoll, a Seventh-day Adventist church and grade school were located. The congregation was organized by Pastor C. Nelson on May 23, 1880, in the home of Hans Johnson. All 12 persons agreed to honor the Lord's commandments, including worshiping on Saturday, the Bible Sabbath, and having faith in Jesus. Hans P. Jensen was elected leader, John P. Christofferson church clerk, and Hans Johnson treasurer. The membership grew to around 30. On December 19, 1898, the congregation met and determined to build a church building as soon as the weather moderated. In September 1899, the congregation was meeting in its new church home. A cemetery of six graves is located here: Stena Jensen, 1884 - 1906; Hans P. Jensen, 1854 - 1914; Mary Jensen, 1859 - 1936; Betsy Jensen, 1886 - 1924; Myrtle Wilson; and Nels C. Jensen, 1886 - 1937.
