Herbert C. Granger was recognized by action of the General Assembly and Highway Commission for distinguished public service during 24 years as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, particularly for his role in the development and construction of roads and highways in Greenville County. He served as chairman of the Grats Committee from 1976 to 1984, the Delegation's Highway Committee from 1969 to 1980, and the Legislative Delegation from 1980 to 1984.
