Taylor County honors all men and women who served in their country's armed forces and remembers those inscribed by name who gave their lives in the cause of freedom as the result of enemy action or as prisoners of war. The conflicts and battlefields associated with that sacrifice include Chateau–Thierry, St. Mihiel, Belleau Wood, Pearl Harbor, Midway, Guadacanal, Anzio, Bataan, Tarawa, Leyte Gulf, Iwo Jima, Normany, Bastogne, North Africa, Seoul, Da Nang, Long Binh, Korea, World War I, World War II, Southeast Asia, other conflicts, and Panama.
