Crowley School, at 301 Main Street in Crowley, Colorado, occupies a 1914 school building that is now the Crowley County Heritage Center. Originally built as a public school, it is the oldest surviving public building in the county and predates the Crowley County Courthouse. The building is notable for its Renaissance Revival architecture, specifically as an unusual local example of the Second Renaissance Revival style, seen in its horizontal divisions, varied window treatments, arched openings, projecting cornices with dentils, and especially its elaborate cupola. As the county’s only known example of this style, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
