Louis Goaziou, who lived from 1864 to 1937, was an internationally known Franco-American Socialist Anarchist and a leading founder and commander of the North American Co-Masons. Born in Scrignac, Brittany, France, he received an advanced education, developed socialist beliefs, came to America as a teenager, and worked in the coal mines. That experience convinced him to become more aggressive about his beliefs. He and his wife became very involved in helping women become Masons, and the first chapter took place here.
