Missouri Buttes, or the Little Missouri Buttes, are four closely grouped igneous peaks in northeastern Wyoming near Devils Tower, rising from Butte Divide between the Little Missouri and Belle Fourche rivers. Their highest summit reaches 5,374 feet, and geologically they are closely related to Devils Tower. Composed of intrusive phonolite with columnar jointing, they are understood as shallow underground igneous bodies, possibly laccoliths or volcanic plugs, that cooled below the surface and were later exposed by erosion. Because the peaks are so tightly clustered, they are generally seen as remnants of one intrusive mass. The buttes are a notable volcanic landform but stand on private land without public access.
