Wilkin County honors its fallen veterans from World War I, World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam Conflict, naming those who died in service between 1917 and 1973, and also recognizing prisoners of war and Medal of Honor recipient Otto Boehler. A tribute declares that the gentle wail of a bugler's taps echoes forever in their honor and calls on later generations to remember them so they shall never die. The memorial was dedicated Sept. 14, 1991.
