Storm Castle is a 7,165-foot mountain in Montana’s Gallatin Range within Gallatin National Forest. Also known as Castle Peak or Castle Mountain, it stands above Gallatin Canyon and has become a familiar landmark in southwestern Montana. The mountain is especially associated with the Storm Castle trail, a popular 5-mile round-trip hike from the trailhead in Gallatin Canyon. Its prominent position over the canyon and its reputation as a hiking destination have made it well known to visitors exploring the area.
