Boston Peak is a prominent North Cascades summit in Washington, rising 8,894 feet within North Cascades National Park and surrounded by some of the range’s most rugged ridges, cirques, and glaciers. Linked to nearby peaks by sharp ridgelines, it overlooks Boston Glacier, the largest glacier in the North Cascades, as well as Quien Sabe and Davenport glaciers. The mountain also marks a drainage divide between waters flowing toward the Skagit River and those feeding the Stehekin River and Columbia basin. Named for the nearby Boston Mine, established through claims made in 1889, the peak itself was first climbed in 1938 and is still regarded as a difficult ascent.
