In tribute to the patriotism and sacrifices of the members of Thomas Jefferson Armstrong Post, G.A.R., and all who went forth to defend the Union in 1861 - 1865, they are remembered as soldiers who no longer march at the bugle's sound or prepare for the sanguine fight, and whose ears are no longer greeted by the thundering of cannon nor their sight by glittering steel.
