Dougherty Auditorium, also known as the Farris Theater, is a historic theater building in Richmond, Missouri, built in 1900–1901 as a performance and movie venue. This two-story rectangular brick structure, measuring 60 by 100 feet, is distinguished by a sheet-metal Palladian window above the central entrance and circular windows on either side. Its later conversion into a local history museum kept the building in active public use while preserving an important early-20th-century theater in a small Missouri town. In 1979, its significance was recognized through listing on the National Register of Historic Places, and it continues to reflect both Richmond’s entertainment history and its community memory.
