Women of Pottawatomie County dedicated this World War memorial in honor of those from the county who answered their country's call and in memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice in the war of 1914-1918: Louis W. Beard, Walter Blackledge, Ernest E. Brunkow, Robert L. Byrnes, Eli F. Dorsey, Lester Dugan, Clifford Ellis, Orville Eytchison, Wm. Fenton, James I. Fitzpatrick, Clarence Gorges, Earl Gregg, Gustav Gustafson, Fred Harrington, Aloysius Helm, Joseph F. Higgins, Joseph A. Hohn, Geo. W. Holm, Joe Hoy, Harold M. Johnson, Clyde E. Keeney, Floyd W. Kemp, Edwin J. McClinchey, Ward McVicar, Fred W. Marten, Joel H. Melgren, Francis Miller, Theodore H. Olson, Guy F. Proctor, Albert T. Sester, Hank Schultz, Roy Swaim, Russell Taylor, Charley Trezise, Reuben J. Westling, Geo. Wingate, James Witter, Loran Woodcock, and Herbert Zeillis. The dedication took place on November 12, 1923.
